John Stanton

John Thomas Stanton (J.T.) entered into eternal peace on Saturday December 31st, 2016 at age of 72 at BSA Hospice Care in Amarillo, TX.

J.T. was born on January 16th, 1944, a son of the late Roy & Cleo Stanton. He was married 53 years to Wanda Joy Talley Stanton.
He had four children; Sandra (Bill) Beavers of Texico, NM. Cheryl (Robert) Smith of Bovina, TX. Selene (Tommy) Pareo of Farwell, TX and Michael (Sheri) Stanton of Amber, OK.
Also nine grandchildren; Roper (Brittni) Smith of TN. Lindsey (Alex) of VA. Dexter Longley of Clovis, NM. Rowdy (Kayla) Smith of Rogers, NM. Jordan Faires of OK. Luke Pareo of Farwell, TX. B.J. Beavers of Texico, NM. Tacia Beavers of AL. Ryder Sta nton of OK.

He is survived by two brothers and four sisters; Joe (Kay) Stanton of Farwell, TX. Darrell (Della) Stanton of Texico, NM. Delores (Raymond) Edwards of Farwell, TX. Lanett (Gary) Patzt of Dumas, TX. Marylin (Floyd) Morris of Plainview, TX. Deana Proctor of Clovis, NM and many nieces and nephews. Six Great Grandchildren Kami, Emilen, Andi, Cali, Cataliya, Alfonso and Blayke.

He is preceded in death by his parents Roy & Cleo Stanton; one brother in-law Raymond Edwards and son in-law Tommy Pareo. Blayke Harper Smith, great grandchild.

J.T. attended school in Hart, Texas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, woodworking, gardening, and he loved playing dominos; He enjoyed spending time with his family and his best friend Beau.
J.T. worked at the Swift Meat Packing Plant for many years. He also owned his own mechanic shop and worked for the Williams for over 30 years where he retired.

A Funeral Service For J.T. will be held on Wednesday, January 4th, 2017 in the Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am MDT. Cremation will take place after the services.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Bluebonnet Hospice and BSA Hospice Care Center for their support in his final days.
