Johnnie McCauley, 83 of Clovis, New Mexico, died on May 18, 2010, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, after a lengthy illness. She was born July 30, 1926 in Jack County, Texas, to Sye and Mary Kade Montgomery.
Johnnie and husband Bill made Clovis their home in 1973 and came to love Clovis and the many friends they had here. They enjoyed playing bingo together after retirement and she loved her garden and yard while he worked in his shop.
She had a warm and generous spirit and always a smile and helping hand to anyone who needed it. All who knew and loved her will miss her but will celebrate her life by remembering the good times we shared.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Lisby of Clovis, Thelma Hedgecock and husband Bill of Carlsbad, New Mexico and son John Pointer of Crestview, Florida grandsons Jerry Lisby and wife Tamara of Highland Village, Texas, Shawn, Michael, and David Hedgecock Jehra of Carlsbad, Ben Pointer of Ohio and Christopher Pointer of Illinois, and granddaughters Melissa Pointer of Illinois and Lily Hedgecock of Carlsbad 8 great gradchildren sisters Mae Cantrell of Antelope, Texas, Carolene Stewart of Arlington, Texas, and Geneva Krug and husband Merle of Burden, Kansas and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill McCauley her son Curtis Pointer her granddaughter Tisha Hedgecock sister Billie Jo Rucker of Kansas, and brother Charles Montgomery of Texas.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at SteedTodd Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
