Johnny Dwayne Thompson, 70, of Clovis, New Mexico died Friday, August 10, 2007 at his home in Clovis, New Mexico. He was born March 22, 1937 in St. Vrain, New Mexico to John D. and Ida Juanita Gleaton Thompson.
He married Terrell Marie Bourne May 7, 1966 in Hereford, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of New Mexico and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed his truck driving career and was an avid fisherman. His family was the love of his life. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Terrell Bourne Thompson of the home in Clovis; 1 son, Larry Thompson Sandy of Albuquerque; 3 daughters, Amanda Farmer Roy of Hill AFB, Utah, Paula Hill Lawerence of Clovis and Caryn Word Scott of Anchorage, Alaska; Stepson, Eston McCollum Trinette of Harrah, Oklahoma; Half Sister, Shirley Witt Jerry of Big Spring, Texas; Half Brother, Steven Thompson Karen of Lovington, New Mexico; Brother, Dwight Thompson of Clovis; 9 Grandsons; 1 Granddaughter; Uncle, S. B. Gleaton of Clovis; Aunts, Margarite Allen of Kerrville, Texas and Gloria Chandler of Portales, New Mexico and his two dachshunds, Wrinkles and Sparky.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his stepmother, Hazel Thompson and Uncle, John Benton Gleaton.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel with Rev. Fred King officiating.
