Ms. Jolee (Hailey) Hulse, recently of Ft. Sumner, N.M., formerly of Albuquerque, N.M., originally from Clovis, N.M. went to be with her Savior on March 14, 2016 in Clovis, N.M.
Jolee Hailey was born in Clovis, N.M. to Homer and Norma Hailey on April 25, 1951. She attended Clovis High School and Wayland Baptist University. For several years in her youth, Jolee was a gifted pianist for First Baptist Church in Clovis, N.M. She played for numerous funerals, weddings, and church services.
In the early 80's she was a case worker for the Elderly for the state of New Mexico. Later Jolee put herself through trucking school and became the first woman trucker to receive one of the new CDL's in New Mexico. She was a cross-country truck driver for several years, eventually returning home to Albuquerque Sun Port Shuttle. She went on to later become a medical transportation driver for Premier Transportation, driving all over New Mexico delivering patients statewide, at the time of her retirement in 2011, she then moved to Ft. Sumner, N.M.
Jolee married James R. Hulse on June 5, 1971 in Norman, OK. Having divorced in 1975, Jolee was a single parent raising her four children, Shana (Theodore) Gallegos of Ft. Sumner, N.M., Jason (Diana) Hulse of El Cajon, CA, Joshua Hulse of Clovis, N.M., and Tisha (Mike) Childers of Clovis, N.M. "Grammy" was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many added grandkids that were all her pride and joy.
Jolee is survived by her children, sister Vicki Hailey Tussing of Rosenburg, TX, sister in law Lydia Hailey Sambrano of Clovis, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Ruben Hailey, James Hulse, and her grandparents.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday March 22, 2016 at Steed Todd Funeral Home.
