Jose Martinez

Jose A. Martinez (Chubbs) of Hobbs, NM passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

He was born in Roswell, NM to Catalina (Kathy) Martinez and Fernando Martinez on August 04, 1988. He was raised in Clovis and Texico, NM where he passed.

He left a great big hole in our hearts that can never be filled. He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan that enjoyed spending time with his family watching football, cooking and most of all eating. He was a hard working man that loved the oil field and enjoyed the company of his coworkers. He would give you the shirt off his back and be willing to lend a helping hand in any circumstance. He touched countless lives in many ways, he will be tremendously missed and loved for an eternity.

No one could have said it better, " His heart was bigger than this world!" -Thank you Juan Carlos Cordova (cousin).

He is survived by his sister Claudia (Jesus) Retana of Texico, NM, nephew Alejandro Retana, nieces Brianna (Miguel) and Kaylee Retana, great nephew Adriel Perez, Carol and Teodoro Castaneda (Nana and Tata), Angela (Chris), Christopher Jr. (Lex and baby Rian), Carol and Dallas whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Patricia Jacquez and countless loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his brother Esequiel L. Cordova, his mother Catalina Martinez, father Fernando Martinez, grandfather Esequiel Cordova Sr., uncles Jerry Montano, Esequiel E. Cordova II and Levy Cordova.

Pallbearers are Juan Carlos Cordova, Miguel Altamirano-Perez, Jesus Retana, Juan Bocanegra, Alejandro Retana, Christopher Martinez Jr., Chris Martinez Sr., Daniel Pena.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dj Venable and Gabriel Montano.

The family would like to give a big huge thank you to Stealth Oil in Hobbs, NM/Odessa Tx. To his coworkers and his boss that brought him comfort in his time of need.
