Jose Ortiz

Jose Anthony Ortiz, age 60, of Clovis, NM. Entered into rest, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Triumph Hospital in Amarillo, TX. He was born February 20, 1951 to Bonefacio and Maria Soto Ortiz in Queens, New York. The Rosary will be recited, Monday, October 24, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the SteedTodd Chapel. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 25, 2011at 10:00 a.m., with Father Sotero Sena, officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories. Serving as Pallbearers will be, William Perales, Guillermo Perales Jr., Guillermo Campos, Michael Ortiz, Edwin Perales, Edgar Perales, Gabriel Casillas, and Sammy Figueroa. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Perales, Edwin Perales II, Matthew Perales, and Herman Chavez.

He served in Vietnam with the United States Marines. He belonged to the VFW, American Legion, Amvets, and the DAV.

He is survived by one daughter, Crystal Jonathan Aragon of Clovis, NM one son, Daniel Jessica Ortiz of Clovis, NM three sisters, Iris Ortiz of Clovis, NM, Aida Tom Beavdry of Matawan, NJ, and Mildred Ortiz of Vineard, NJ two brothers, Abbie Ortiz of Clovis, NM and Guillermo BillLucy Perales four grandchildren, Briana Garcia, Johnathan Aragon, Katie Ortiz, and Mateo Madrid nephews, nieces and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bonifacio Ortiz on November 4, 1967 and Maria M. Ortiz on February 24, 1991 three brothers, Nelson Perales on August 3, 1993, Wilson Perales on June 13, 2006, and Angel Ortiz on August 15, 1991 one sister, Evelyn Figuroa on June 5, 1998.
