Jose Perez

Jose El Puma Luis Perez, age 54, of Melrose, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born on April 15, 1957 to Thomas and Petra Torrez Perez in Torreon, Mexico.

El Puma married Maria Julia Adame on March 12, 2009 in Melrose, New Mexico, after being together for 26 years. He loved to listen to country music, work on his cars, and watch Lucha Libre and noticias. He also loved playing with his grandchildren, dogs, and working in the yard. He was employed at Cargill and Allsups Convenience Stores. He was wellloved by all his family, neighbors and friends.

El Puma is survived by his wife, Maria Adame Perez, of the home one son, Jose Luis Perez, Jr. Christie Sanchez of El Paso, TX one daughter, Angelica Marin Lucas of El Paso, TX five grandchildren, Samuel Perez II of Amarillo, TX, Harmony Perez of Clovis, Melony and Jeremiah Lucas of Dalton, GA, and Christopher Luis Perez of Amarillo, TX mother, Petra Torrez of El Paso, TX four brothers, Javier Sandra Perez, Thomas Rosa Perez, Peter Josephine Espinoza, David Irma Espinoza, all of El Paso, TX two sisters, Maria Ventura Perez of El Paso, TX and Lourdes Espinoza Gilberto Bravo of Ft. Worth, TX father and motherinlaw, Alfredo and Pasquala Adame uncle, Juan Torrez of Juarez, Mexico and aunt, Josephine Torrez of Juarez, Mexico.

He is preceded in death by a son, Samuel Perez father, Thomas Perez uncle, Nicolas Torrez grandmother, Guadalupe Hernandez and stepgrandfather, Juan Adame.

A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at SteedTodd Chapel, and a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Melrose with Pastor Ricky Reed officiating. Burial will be at Melrose Cemetery to be followed by a reception at First United Methodist Church in Melrose. Pallbearers will be Jose Luis Perez, Jr., Javier Perez, Peter Espinoza, David Espinoza, Thomas Perez, Marin Perez, Gilbert Bravo and Michael Carrillo.
