Joseph Garcia

Joseph Daniel Garcia, age 52, of Portales, New Mexico, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Joseph was born on August 10, 1959 in Guadalupita, New Mexico to Francisco and Veneranda Gonzales Garcia. The Garcia family moved to Portales when Joseph was two years old. He attended the Portales Schools. At thirteen he moved to California and then moved back to Portales. He worked as a mechanic for Cummins Natural Gas Engines. He loved working on cars and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing with his son.

He is survived by his son Christopher J. Garcia of Portales, NM his mother, Veneranda Garcia of Portales, NM four sisters, Sally Clarkson, Maybell Carrasco, Stella Majhor, and Lillian Rogers six brothers, Ernest Garcia, Pat Garcia, Jimmy Garcia, Frankie Garcia, Steve Garcia, and Simon Garcia.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco Garcia one brother, Claudio Garcia and one sister, Sandra Martinez.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Apostolic Lighthouse at 1500 N. Abilene in Portales with Pastor Joe Majhor, officiating. Burial will follow at the Portales Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jared Majhor, Toby Garcia, Stevie Garcia, Fabian Garcia, Nito Lovato, Simon Jr. Garcia, Ben Marquez, and Domonic Vasquez.
