Josephine Sena, 95, our beloved Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on December 16, 2020. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, siblings, and two children. She entered this world on May 16, 1925 in Villanueva, New Mexico, born to Facundo Lucero and Mariana Bachicha. She is survived by her sons Fulgencio Sena (Maryann), Saturnino Sena (Amparo), Clarence Sena (Barbara), Christobal Sena (Loretta), Salvador Sena, Johnny Sena (Fela), Roman Sena (Ramona), and daughters Maryann Arguello (George), Cecilla Chavez, and Evangeline Garcia (Daniel), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Josephine served in the community as a religious educator, minister, substitute teacher, librarian along with many other roles. At a very early age she would play in the chicken coop cracking all of the eggs and enjoyed playing dress-up in her aunts clothes. Josephine grew up in Villanueva untill she left for college at 18. She moved to Colorado to attend a catholic sisters school where she graduated with a degree in teaching. Josephine enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with her friends and family, she solved countless crossword puzzles, and made it a point to make a 100+ puzzle for each of her grandchildren. Josephine taught her daughters and grandchildren how to crochet, and enjoyed embroidery. Josephine made countless blankets and quilts for her friends and family. She embroidered by hand a small quilt for a church in Villianueva that is on display to this day. Josephine met her husband Juan Sena after he got out of the service. Together they enjoyed dancing competitively, participating in senior olpimics, farming, raising animals, selling vegetables, and raising their ten children. Josephine will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetary along side her husband. Due to COVID restrictions only the immediate family will be able to attend services.
