Services for Juan Edward Chavez age 79 of Clovis, New Mexico will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will take place following services and burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories at a later date. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday until the service. A meal will be held at 309 Georgia St. in Clovis following services.

Juan was born March 25, 1934 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Louis and Maggie Chavez. He passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He went to rest after a long term illness which his daughter and son in law helped care for him along with the help of the Presbyterian Home Health and Hospice. Juan was raised in Santa Rosa, New Mexico and came to Clovis where he lived the remaining of his life living with his daughter and son in law Elias and Debbie Lopez and their three children. He worked as a laborer for Worley Mills and KBarnett in Clovis. He enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and working on his little ranch he owned and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Juan is survived by his children daughter Dianna Chapman of Portales, New Mexico son Danny Chapman and companion Clara son Dicky Chapman son David Chapman and companion Cheryl daughter Debbie Lopez and her husband Lee son Delbert Chapman and Terrie Chapman all of Clovis, New Mexico mother of his children Mary Chapman of Clovis, New Mexico 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in law Emma and Vidal Padilla, brother in law Johnny Padilla, son in law George Lopez, sister in law Christine Dominquez, and two great grandchildren Adam and Evan Lopez.
