Juan Sanchez

Juan Sanchez Montes, 65, of Portales, NM, passed away on April 11, 2015.

The Rosary will be at 9:00 am on April 17, 2015 with the Mass immediately following at 10:00 am on April 17, 2015 at St. Helen's Church in Portales. Father Charles Ugochukwa of St. Helens will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, New Mexico from 9 am to 8 pm. Burial will be held at San Antonio Del Bravo Chihuahua, Mexico. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Steed-Todd.

Pallbearers will be Patricio Garcia, Michael Encinias, Ben Houston, Julian Moran, Paul Montano, Edward Sanchez, and David Sanchez. Honorary bearers are friends and family.

Juan was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua on May 20, 1949.

Juan was married to Panfila on November 9, 2000. They were married 14 years. Juan worked as a laborer and was a jack of all trades with many working years under his belt. He enjoyed raising animals, tending his chickens, gardening, loved the social life, loved his friends, but most of all he loved his family.

Juan is survived by his wife, Panfila Sanchez; his children 3 daughters, Amy Sue Garcia married to Patricio of Portales, Mary Christine Mendoza of Portales and Juanita Andrea Sanchez and partner Michael Encinias of Portales 1 Son, Angel Miguel Sanchez of Portales 1 Stepson Armando Ivan Mendoza of Portales, and 1 Step daughter Ariana Mendoza of Texas; 4 grandchildren Samantha Jo Garcia of Portales, Savannah Lynn Garcia of Portales, Julian Xavier Moran of Portales, Lourdes Nevei Encinias of Portales, and 3 Step grandchildren Irvin Lozaya of Texas, Yanexi Lozaya of Texas, Lizabeth of Texas; 4 Brothers, Edwardo Sanchez married to Nancy of Portales, Andres Sanchez of San Antonio Del Bravo Chih. Mexico, Ramon Sanchez married to Sophia of San Antonio Del Bravo Chih. Mexico, Ernesto Montes of San Antonio Del Bravo Chih. Mexico; 2 Sisters, Cruz Lopez of San Anontio Del Bravo Chih. Mexico and Bertha Olivas; and other family and friends.

Juan is preceded in death by his father, Gonzalo Sanchez; his mother, Catalina Montez; and a Sister, Dominga Sanchez.
