Juanita Johnsons journey came to an end on January 18, 2012 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born on May 24, 1914 to John Lee Nichols and Mabel Warren in Kirkland, Texas.
Juanita received her Beauticians License in 1932 and worked in the states of New Mexico and Texas for over 50 years, retiring from Portales Beauty Salon. She was a member of Parkland Baptist Church in Clovis, New Mexico, the Historical Club, Genealogy Org, VFW Post 3299 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, United Daughters of the Confederacy and Chaparral Homemakers Club in Clovis.
She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed people and places. She was a mom magnet and to many people she was Mom.
She is survived by two children: Mary Jon Johnson Peter McKenzie of Clovis, New Mexico and Kevin Edward Johnson of Fairfield, California. She was the proud Grandmother of nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Others who knew her as Mom are Beverly Slaght of Clovis, New Mexico, Dennis Highley of Phoenix, Arizona and Penny Campbell of Amarillo, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents her husband: Eddie Grover Johnson two sisters: Maude Mathews and Bessie Carter.
Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Portales Cemetery with Chaplin Darryl Tennefos officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
