June Brummett

Iris June Brummett age 90 of Clovis, was born in Asher, Oklahoma to Harrison Gregory and Arizona Elizabeth Harper Beene on January 28, 1922. She passed away January 17, 2013 at her home in Clovis, New Mexico. The family moved to Friona, Texas in 1930 to farm South of Friona. She graduated from Friona High School and then attended Draughns Business School in Lubbock, Texas in 1940. She married Joseph Sumner Brummett December 20,1941 in Friona, Texas. The family moved to Clovis, New Mexico in 1958. Mrs. Brummett was bookkeeper at Claiborne Refrigeration from 1960 until 1962, she then worked as bookkeeper and manager of Clovis Country Club from 1962 until 1971. She was a licensed realtor for several companies in Clovis from 1971 until 1999. June was honored as Sales Person of the Year in 1977 and 1978 and was Realtor of the year in 1980. June was an active member of TOPS and served as NM TOPS State Coordinator from 1964 until 2002. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Texico.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Burl Beene, of Friona, Texas and Glyn Griffin, of Amarillo, Texas an infant son, Kenny Ray an infant grandson, John Martin Winzler husband, Joe Brummett a grandsoninlaw, Michael Kovacs two soninlaws, Jerry Thomas, Clovis and Robert Winzler, Albuquerque one daughter, Linda Winzler, Albuquerque. She is survived by two daughters, JoBeth Broadhurst, of Lockhart, Texas and Debi Thomas, of Clovis six grandchildren, 11 great grand children and 4 great, great grand children.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rob Hollis officiating. Burial will follow at the Friona Cemetery in Friona, Texas. Pallbearers will be Eugene Heflin, Andrew Colla, Harrison Broadhurst, Eric Thomas, Evan Kovacs, Roger Odegard and Robert Winzler,II. The family will be at her home in Clovis.
