June Montgomery

June Montgomery, 84, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. She was born June 21, 1923 to Herman Lena Fowler Petty.

She came to Clovis in 1926 and married James Montgomery December 28, 1941. She was a homemaker and was a member of Central Baptist Church and Daughters of the Nile.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Janet Fowler and Diane Smith both of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 1 son, Don Montgomery of Los Lunas, New Mexico; 1 brother, Charles Petty of Ranchvale, New Mexico; 1 sister-in-law Lejeune Newton of Amarillo, Texas; 1 nephew, Dale Petty of Albuquerque; 2 nieces, Judy Abernathy of Clovis and Cheryl Herring of Perryton, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Shannon Tina Smith and Kenneth McDonald all of Albuquerque, Keith McDonald of Carlsbad and Kevin McDonald of Belen, New Mexico and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; 1 son, Michael Joe Montgomery and 1 sister, Alice Bell.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 at Steed-Todd Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jake Massey, Willard ORear, Keith ORear, Danny Fish, Pete Davis and Hubert Qualls.
