Junius Knight

Junius J.E. Knight, age 83 of Clovis, NM passed away on March 15, 2014 in Clovis, NM.

J.E. was born on August 18, 1930 in Asher County, AZ to Jack and Liller Gieger Knight. He graduated from Thatcher High School in Thatcher, AZ. He was an outstanding athlete and received an athletic scholarship to college. Over the years he worked as a welder and owned his own trucking company. After he became disabled, he owned and operated an upholstery business. He married LaVeeta Reed on January 7, 2001 in Melrose, NM. He was known by everyone as a hard worker at everything he did. He loved fishing, dancing and hunting. He loved his family and especially spending time with the young. J.E. was a member of First Baptist Church in Melrose, NM and he loved his Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his wife, LaVeeta Knight of the home three daughters: Marge Robert Holland of Springerville, AZ, Rhonda Tom Harford of Tucson, AZ and Terri Bill Yparrea of Lubbock, TX two stepdaughters: Melinda Bill Hollaway of Melrose, NM and Deanna Jim Hogg of Clovis, NM eleven grandchildren twentythree great grandchildren one brother: Harold Ramona Knight of Colorado and one sisterinlaw: Lue Knight of Safford, AZ.

He is preceded in death by his parents and by ten brothers and sisters.

Funeral services are at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Melrose, NM with Brother Durward Wofford officiating. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery. Pallbearers are J.E.s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
