Katrina Green

Katrina Alberta Skarda Green, 62, of Colorado Springs, CO, died early Tuesday morning in Clovis, NM. She was born October 1, 1949 in Clovis. After graduating from Clovis High School, she attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs where she majored in Art Education. She then received a Masters in Art Education with an emphasis in photography from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

She was an art teacher at Doherty High School in Colorado Springs where she taught for over 30 years. After retirement from teaching, she moved back to Clovis to be primary caregiver for her father and was on the Board of Directors at The Citizens Bank of Clovis at the time of her death.

She was an avid photographer and could always be found telling the best jokes and singing at the top of her lungs.

In 1979, she married Charles M. Green of Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, A.W. Skarda her mother, Kathryn Burns Skarda and brother Gregory A.F. Skarda.

She is survived by her husband, Charles M. Green of Colorado Springs, CO a son Dr. Evan L. Green and wife, Ellen of Royal Oak, MI two daughters, Katlin M. Green of Colorado Springs, CO and Hannah A.S. Green of Boulder, CO father Lynell G. Skarda of Clovis, NM a sister Dr. Patricia L. Skarda of Easthampton, MA and a brother Jeffrey J. Skarda and wife, Penny of Houston, TX.

Cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clovis, NM followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Carlos Chavez, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Plains Sanctuary Mausoleum, Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
