Kendra Lennon, 61, of Clovis, NM, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas. She was born January 2, 1948, in Moberly, Missouri to Kenneth and Crystal Yeakey.

She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1970 with degrees in Psychology and Religion and Eastern New Mexico University in 1978 with a degree in Education. She received her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Eastern New Mexico University in 1982. Kendra was an elementary education teacher in Clovis for 30 years and was at Mesa Elementary for the last 17 years. She retired in 2008 due to her illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Clovis. She was a deaf interpreter for 20 years for various organizations and led the Deaf Ministry at Central Baptist Church for 20 years. She married Wayne Lennon November 20, 1979, in Clovis.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Yeakey. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Lennon; a daughter, Crista Blackhurst and husband Todd of Amarillo, Texas; three beloved grandchildren, Katelyn Grace, Ashlyn Faith and Andrew Todd all of Amarillo; her mother, Crystal Yeakey Horne and husband Joel of Clovis; one sister, Carol Howard and husband Daniel of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Kerry Yeakey and wife Renee of Dallas, Texas and Kenny Yeakey and wife Anne Marie of Palestine, Texas.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009, at Central Baptist Church in Clovis with Pastors Keeney Ray Dickenson and Steve Speichinger officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Terrace Memorial Cemetery in Farwell, Texas.

The casket will be closed at the service. Friends may call at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 7, from 6:00 8:00 p.m.

Casket bearers will be Frank Parrish, Bryce Storrie, Paul Tankersley, Scott Hill, Cecil Kendall, Doug Schwartz, J. T. Berry Tyler Berry.
