Kenneth Gene Bivens, age 68, of Logan, New Mexico, passed away on March 6, 2012 at Autumn Blessings Assisted Living in Logan.

Kenneth was born on October 19, 1943 in La Luz, New Mexico to James E. Bivens, Sr and Lottie Mae Skinner Bivens. He graduated from Mosquero High School in 1962. Kenneth joined the National Guard in 1964 and later retired after thirtysix years. He became a Juvenile Correctional Officer in 1965 and also retired after 32 years. He volunteered as a Foster Grandparent for Springer Elementary. He attended the Methodist Church in Springer, New Mexico. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and picking up rocks, hiking, and backpacking.

He is survived by his two sons: Frankie Bivens and Josh Bivens one stepson: Ira Harris one sister, Wanda Lou Banquets of Phoenix, Arizona his brother James E. Bivens, Jr. and his wife, Myrle of Tucumcari, New Mexico and two brothersinlaw, John McHenry of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Tom Ward of Las Cruces, New Mexico and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents two sisters, Imajean McHenry and Dorothy Ward and one brother: Donny Bivens.

Kenneth wishes were to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 14, 2012 at Solano Community Cemetery in Solano, New Mexico.
