Larry Heenan

Larry Noel Heenan, 69, or Melrose, NM went peacefully home on September 13, 2016.
Viewing will be at Steed-Todd Funeral Home on Friday, September 16, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Memorial services will be held at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00am.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
Larry was born on January 4, 1947 to Noel William and Donna Marie (Rasmussen) Heenan in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Noel W. and Donna M. Heenan, his son, Russell William Heenan, his sister, Nina Marie Duffman, and his nephew, Robert Patterson.
Larry is survived by his children, Lisa Criswell, Robert Heenan, Robyn Heenan, and Adam (Michelle) Heenan, all of Kansas. Larry was also Dad to his step-children. His sisters, Cheryl Funck of Texas, Lisa Loucks of Clovis, Susan (Bob) Patterson of Colorado. His brother, Fred (Diana) Heenan, and his brother-in-law James (Jim) Duffman of Missouri. Also his cousin, Deborah Strimple-Smith of Coffeyville, along with 4 grandsons, 13 granddaughters, 8 great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews.
He bravely served our country during Vietnam as an Infantryman. He was awarded two Medal of Valor, two Purple Hearts, and many others. Larry worked as a Turkey rancher, did a beautiful job of re-storing furniture, and he worked for the village of Melrose for many years.
He stayed positive and gave smiles freely and he never met a stranger.
