Larry Porter

Larry Porter, age 75, of Clovis, NM passed away on August 7, 2013 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, TX.

Larry was born on August 21, 1937 in Hammond, Oklahoma to Robert and Tinnie Porter. He was a longtime Clovis, NM resident. He retired from the United States Air Force at Cannon Air Force Base in 1976. He owned and operated several automotive businesses over the years here in Clovis, including Larrys Auto Sales. He liked Nascar and Blackjack Porch Time with a red beer. He married Dejon Owens on December 16, 1995 in Clovis, New Mexico. Larry was a past member of Odd Fellows and a member of Church of the Brethren in Clovis, NM.

He is survived by his wife: Dejon Porter of the home four sons: Bud Donna Porter of Duncan, OK, Victor Bella Porter of Clovis, NM, David Sylvia Porter of Lawton, OK and Gene Janet Porter of Clovis, NM two stepsons: Troy Cole of Clovis, NM and Jody Trudy Cole of Clovis, NM sister in in law: Alana Chris Cummins eleven grandchildren: Drew, Logan, Lexi, Austin, Kyle, Katie, Hilary, Jessica, Tye, Christian, David five great grandchildren: Bella, Ryland, Abram, Axton and Corbin and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents his first wife: Jane Porter five sisters: Ossie, Ruby, Helen, Zelma and Bobbie and two brothers: Orville and Ronald Gene.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM. Memorial services are at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating and Dr. Joel Horne and Pastor David White assisting.
