Laura Tafoya

Laura Diane Mitchell Tafoya, 42, of Clovis went to reside with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 25, 2014 following a tragic accident. Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Central Baptist Church, 2501 N Norris St., with Pastor Dick Ross presiding.

Laura was born in Albuquerque on July 31, 1971 to Dan and Kathie Thompson. She graduated from ENMU and made Clovis her home. Laura married Mark Mitchell in 1993 and together they had a beautiful daughter, Alexa Mitchell. Laura married Ronnie Tafoya in 2007 and he preceded her in death. At the time of her death she was engaged to Dr. Keith Barker and together they shared many wonderful experiences. In addition to having owned two Allstate Insurance agencies, Laura was a certified optometric technician and worked at Eye Care Clinic over a span of 20 years. Laura was a gourmet cook and will be forever remembered for her exquisite culinary creations. Most of all, Laura had a beautiful and gentle soul and her absence is deeply felt by the ones she has left behind. Laura was an avid soccer player in her youth, later developed a passion for golf, and was so proud of her most recent accomplishment of becoming a certified scuba diver.
Her grieving survivors include her cherished daughter Alexa, her beloved fianc, Keith Barker, parents Dan and Kathie Thompson, sister Deedra Johnson and Jamie, niece Danni Johnson, nephew Jagger Johnson, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who loved her and will miss her.

Pallbearers will be: Thomas Tafoya, Jamie Johnson, Gary Thompson, Kevin Burke, Mark Mitchell and Calloway Clark.
