Laverna Brewer

Laverna Francis Brewer went to heaven on August 15th, 2016.

She was born February 23rd, 1921 to Arthur and Effie Tiffin near Maud, Oklahoma. The family came to New Mexico in 1929. She was saved and joined Ranchvale Baptist Church in 1936.
She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales for 2 years. The Lord has blessed her being reared in a Christian home with 7 brothers and sisters. She lived in the country most of her life.
She married John Brewer in Portales in 1942. She lived 6 miles North of St. Vrain for 60 years. Her husband passed away in September of 2008.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ramona Berry and Jewel Hall of Portales, and Thelma Starkey of Franklin, Texas; 2 brothers, Carroll Tiffin of Rockland, Maine, and Curtis Tiffin, of Portales.

She is survived by 2 brothers, Leon Tiffin, of Portales, and Gerald Tiffin of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends from Portales, Ranchvale, and Melrose.

Graveside service will be held at the Melrose Cemetery. The preacher will be Sam Kelley.

Honorary Pallbears will be: James Townsend, Robert Townsend, Nolan Fish, Rich Smith, Keith Berry, and Kevin Berry.
