Lavone Twilley

Lavone Qualls Twilley, 72, passed away on April 3, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM. She was born to Buford and Cleo Qualls on September 11, 1941 in Clovis, NM. She married William G. Twilley Bill on June 3, 1961 Clovis, NM.

She is survived by her sisters, Anita Fogtman of Houston, TX Marilyn Mackey and husband Joe of Shawnee, OK and Dr. Sheila Williams of Las Cruces, NM her four children, Michael Twilley of Victoria, TX and Jeff Twilley and wife Melody, Melissa Sullivan and husband Paul, and Brian Twilley, all of Houston, TX as well as eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her friend Marty Biggs of Las Cruces, NM.

She was preceded in death by Bill Twilley, Buford and Cleo Qualls and grandson Devin Sullivan.

Lavone loved singing with the Genoa Baptist Church choir and teaching Sunday School. She was regularly active in her childrens school PTA and often volunteered her time to classrooms. She showed off her green thumb by growing rare plants in her greenhouse and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. In addition, she made many a blanket for the kids. She was in a bowling league for many years. She loved helping others and practiced Massage Therapy at Back to Health Chiropractic in Las Cruces, NM.

She will be cremated at SteedTodd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM and interred next to her late mother Cleo Qualls in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens cemetery in Clovis, NM.
