Lawrence Harley West formally of Clovis, age 90 of Alto, TX passed away September 27, 2007 in Alto, TX. He was born September 1, 1917 in Carrollton, Missouri to John Henry and Nellie Marie Mathis. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1937. He married Margie Ruddick in 1948 in Clovis, NM. He worked as a delivery man for Clovis Ice and Produce. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed playing solitaire, he was an avid horse rider, and played the clarinet.

He is survived by two daughter LaVerna Pirkle of Alto, TX; Shirley Johnson of Lubbock, TX; three sons Roy Dale Davenport of Clovis, NM; Russell Ray Rozell of Corpus Christi, TX; Lawrence Edward West of Amarillo, TX; two nephews John West of Carrollton, Missouri; Fred West of Glacier, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one son Wendall Davenport, his parents, and two brothers Paul Woodrow and Ivan Wayne West.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Mission Garden of Memories with Pastor Doug Brooks officiating.
