Lena Jean Dilbeck age 77 of Clovis went to meet her Heavenly Father Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis. She was born February 15, 1932 in Grady, New Mexico to Earl Ross and Callie Lucille Harper Taylor. Lena grew up in Grady and Clovis and she attended school in Grady. She married David Oliver Dilbeck on January 27, 1947 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Lena worked for Clovis Steam Laundry for the Cannon Air Force Base Pickup, Sparkle Cleaners, Safeway Grocery Store, and for several years after she was a babysitter out of her home touching many young children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Texico. She was a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. She will be remembered by all for her wisdom and her strength.
She is survived by three daughters Becky Danny Gear of Clovis, Karen Buddy Buchtel of Hoyt, Kansas, Jan Danny Riley of Clovis; two sons David Linda Dilbeck of Houston, Texas, and Wayne Dilbeck of Clovis; one sister Roseanne Caffey of Dallas, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, one son Donald Lee, two daughters Shirley and Sharon, her parents and six sisters.
Closed casket services will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Steed Todd Chapel with Rev. Dick Ross officiating, burial will follow at the Grady Cemetery in Grady, N.M.. Friends may come to the funeral home prior to services for viewing until services. Pallbearers will be Mike Gear, David Allen Dilbeck, Jeremy Riley, Chris Dilbeck, Joseph Buchtel, Dennis Dilbeck and Thomas Dilbeck. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Retirement Ranch of Clovis.
