alignjustifyMrs. Stone passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at the Tulsa Nursing Center in Tulsa, OK. She was born Dec. 13, 1911 in Wapanucka, OK to Lee and Zelva James Woods.

alignjustifyShe married Byron Stone on May 20, 1933 in Clovis. Mrs. Stone was a former resident of Melrose until moving to Oklahoma in 2000. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Melrose.

alignjustifyShe is survived by three daughters, Zelia Campbell Stanley of Owassa, OK, Essie Merrill Tom of Midland, TX, and Mary Connolly Michael of Hawaii, one son, James Stone Betty of Farmington, two sisters, Helen Henry Eddie, and Patsy Magrin Moritz both of Tulsa, OK, one brother, G. Woods of Houston, TX, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Juanita Stone, one son, Boyce Stone, and one grandson, Tommy Merrill.

alignjustifyServices will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Melrose. Pastor Durward Wofford will officiate. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery.

alignjustifyHonorary casket bearers will be all friends and neighbors.
