Leo Gonser, Jr.

L.C. Gonser, age 56 of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home in Clovis, New Mexico.

He was born in Melrose, New Mexico to Garnet Leigh Downey and Leo Clayton Gonser. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1974. L. C. married Karen Wadette Kerby on June 2, 1979 in Melrose, New Mexico. He farmed in the surrounding area and was a seed salesman for Hoegemeyer Seed Company. L. C. never met a stranger in his life. He was a great husband, father, and loving family man and was always an encouraging and inspiring person, even through his illness. He had a strong faith and his walk with God was inspiring. L. C. was a member that attended and loved his churches: Victory Family Worship Center in Friona, Texas and Living Stones Community Church of the Nazarene in Clovis, New Mexico.

L. C. is survived by his wife, Karen Gonser of the home two daughters: Leanna Mike Summers of Whiteman AFB, Missouri and Brittany Gonser of Clovis, New Mexico one son: Ty Gina Gonser of Clovis, New Mexico three sisters: Doris Jim Bolton of Clovis, New Mexico, Devra Don Tibbets of Jal, New Mexico and Donis Tommy Bouldin of Portales, New Mexico eight grandchildren: Emmrey, Wyatt, Samantha, Shawn, Micah, Jadyn, Kyle, and Brooke his motherinlaw: Cleo McFall of Melrose, New Mexico two sistersinlaw: Donna Tom Avritt of Portales, New Mexico and Myra Jim Pancrazio of Edgewood, New Mexico two brothersinlaw: Bill Kerby of Clovis, New Mexico and Robert Amy Kerby of Friona, Texas and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by both parents: Leo Clayton Gonser and Garnet Leigh Downey Gonser and one sister: Dixie L. Gonser.

Services are at 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2013 in the Melrose High School Gym, 100 Missouri Avenue in Melrose, NM with Steve Friskup officiating and Robert Kerby assisting. Casket Bearers are Doug Antwiler, Paul Grider, Gene Schueler, Loren Martin, Mike OHare and Pat Duffy. Honorary Casket Bearers are all of L.C.s grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3511 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79415.
