Leola Pierce

Leola Pierce, age 72, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on August 12, 2012 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

Leola was born on July 18, 1940 to J.O. and Estlee Timmons Richardson in Locksburg, Arkansas. She moved to Turkey, Texas where she met Wayne Pierce. They were married on December 7, 1956 in Floydada, Texas. While Wayne was in the service, Leola lived in Floydada, Texas. They moved to Farwell, Texas and lived there for many years. They moved to Clovis in 1995. Leola worked for RSVP and sold Avon for 16 years. While she was selling Avon, Leola raised money for breast cancer awareness. She was a member of Agape Fellowship Church. Leola was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband: Wayne Pierce of Clovis, New Mexico two daughters: Gayle Boone of Amarillo, Texas and her husband Ronnie and Cherry Pierce of Clovis, New Mexico one son: Rickey Pierce of Texico, New Mexico and his wife Denise three sisters: Norma Townsend and Willma Sortor, both of Lubbock, Texas and Joyce Barlow of Wagner, Oklahoma one brother: J.O. Richardson, Jr. of Clovis, New Mexico eleven grandchildren and thirtyone great grandchildren.

Leola was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and one sister.

Closed casket funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at SteedTodd Chapel, 800 E. Manana Blvd, Clovis, NM with Jim Reed officiating. Casket bearers are Ronnie Boone, Darrell Barlow, Robert Love, Orbie Brinie and Rickey Pierce. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico.
