Leona Gossett, 94, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Clovis Healthcare. She was born March 16, 1915 in Leon, Oklahoma, to William Effie Delil Taylor.

She married Clifton Gerald Gossett October 4, 1937, in Clovis. She was a lifelong resident of Clovis. She was a wonderful cook and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved music and her husband was a musician and taught square dancing at the Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of Prince Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, JoLene Fox Dan; daughter-in-law, Connie Gossett of Arlington, Texas; 3 granddaughters, Pam Norton, Zane Gossett and Jana Kettle; 2 grandsons, Darrell Norton and Harold Norton and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and 1 son, Neal.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Steed-Todd Chapel in Clovis with Rev. Roy Roach officiating. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery in Texico, New Mexico.

Casket bearers will be Darrell Norton, Harold Norton, Robert Fox and Dr. Richard Stamm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prince Street Baptist Church, 421 N. Prince, Clovis, NM 88101.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 18.
