Leona Pearl Likely, 90, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Friday, February 16, 2007 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born December 29, 1916 in Portales, New Mexico to James Ellen Billberry Turner.
She was raised in Portales. She married Joe Likely August 24, 1958 in Clovis and later in 1958 they moved to Clovis. She worked as a dietician at Retirement Ranch for many years before retiring. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mavis Walkup and Vivian Grimes both of Clovis, New Mexico; one son, Lloyd Walkup Wanda of Clovis; two sisters, Pauline Smith and Bonnie Prichard both of Hobbs, New Mexico; 3 grandchildren, Ginger Justin Smith and Tony Keelyn Walkup all of Clovis and Laurie Joe Andrews of Durham, Maine and 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Kayla Andrews and Andrew Walkup.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lloyd D. Walkup; second husband, Joe Likely; 2 brothers; 4 sisters and several nieces nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Dunsworth officiating.
Honorary casket bearers will be all her friends family.
