Leonard Barkley

Leonard B. Barkley, age 89, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas

Leonard was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Barkley and his father Alvin B. Barkley his son: Terry Barkley and two sisters: Gladys Marchman and Oda Mae Deats.

Leonard is survived by his wife: Bonnie, of the home one son: Sam Barkley and his wife Betty Jane of Clovis, New Mexico one sister: Dorothy Crawford of Lubbock, Texas three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Leonard was born on May 19, 1923 on the family farm that was twelve miles SE of Grady, New Mexico to Alvin B. and Bessie Ray Barkley. He married Bonnie Collins in 1967 in Clovis, New Mexico. Leonard loved his Lord and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years as a bridge inspector. He was a member of Parkland Baptist Church.

Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at SteedTodd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
