Leroy Klingensmith

The race is over, after 15 years battling Cancer, Bud was called home to be with his Heavenly Father. Bud died on July 24, 2007 at his home with his family by his side.

Bud was born in Greensburg, PA on July 25, 1940, the only child to Bertha Leroy Klingensmith. After graduating from Irwin Public Schools and completing his enlistment time in the Army Reserves, he and some of his friends drove West on Route 66 to Los Angeles, CA. Bud joined the US Air Force in 1963, taking his Basic Training at Lackland AFB, TX, his job training on jet engines in Amarillo, TX before being stationed at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM in 1964.

He and Linda Jameson met in 1964 on Main St and were married on January 15, 1965. After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1966, Bud worked for Holsum Bread as a routeman and later supervisor until 1976 then moved his family to Irwin, PA. He worked for Hostess Cake in PA for 10 years then moved back to Clovis, NM. He continued working as a routeman for Dolly Madison then Rainbo Bread until August 25, 1992 when he was diagnosed with Cancer.

Bud's family was his pride and joy of life. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home, 2 sons Rick of Clovis, NM and Dan Christy of Clovis, NM, 2 daughters Casey Sharrock Terry of Friona, TX and Suzann Creasy Johnny of Knoxville, TN. Bud was blessed with 8 grandchildren, JR, Danny, Megan, Deric, Matt, Maddie, Darin and Erin. Bud's very special friends Wilbur and Doris Cogdill, and of course, Sandy, Bud's 3 legged dog, friend and constant companion.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents.

Celebration services will be at Parkland Baptist Church, 921 Parkland Dr, Clovis, NM on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow in Roswell, NM.

Pallbearers: Gary Elliot, George England, Charlie Eldridge, Don Cross, Gary Zoelzer and Dick Gressett.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkland Baptist Church Building Fund or Casa Esparanza in Albuquerque.

Honorary Pallbearers: Bryan Harris, Tom Martin, Bennett Williams

Family will be at 2101 Weeden, Clovis, NM .
