Leroy Smith

Leroy Jefferson Jeff Smith, age 90, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Retirement Ranch in Clovis, New Mexico. He was born on November 30, 1919 to Milton Otis and Ida Thorpe Smith in Belen, New Mexico.

Jeff has been a Clovis resident for 65 years since moving from Belen. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad for over 40 years, and retired in 1983. He loved to play Bingo, going to McDonalds for breakfast and lunch at the Senior Citizens Center. He greatly loved kids and animals as well.

He is survived by one son, Dr. Larry Smith Sherry Gray of Albuquerque one daughter Dr. Cynthia Smith Dr. James Felberg of Lubbock, Texas three grandchildren, Tonya James Strange of Albuquerque, and Alex and Aaron Felberg of Lubbock and two greatgrandchildren, Felicia and Chammonix Strange of Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Jackson Smith, his parents, and one son Dennis Smith.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 15, 11:00 a.m. at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico.
