Leroy Warren

Services for Leroy Bear Warren age 70 of Clovis will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Johns Baptist Church in Clovis with Rev. Joe Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.Pallbearers will be William P. Hall, Douglass Hunter, Lee Stevenson, Dewey Patton, Hubert Spielman, and Johnny Washington. Honorary pallbearers will be George Houston, Willie Mayfield, Clarence Mayfield, Dennis Chislom, Jackie Robinson, and Aaron Young. Leroy was born September 26, 1937 in Grace, Mississippi to Willie and Etta Wilson Warren. He passed away August 31 at his home in Clovis. He moved to Clovis in 1953 and went to work for Swift for eleven years. He then worked for K- Barnett before retiring in 1993. He worked as a shoe shiner at Clovis Shoe Shine Parlor after retirement to stay active. Leroy loved all types of sports and played baseball in his younger age.

Leroy is survived by his two sisters Etter Houston and Melissa Mayfield both of Clovis; one brother Sam Shorter of Clovis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, twelve brothers, and two sisters.
