Lillian V. Bell, 93, of Clovis, New Mexico, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Retirement Ranch. She was born October 14, 1916, in Rosebud, Texas, to Augustus and Emma Hedrick Canipe.

She married Galen L. Bell February 20, 1937 in Clovis. She was a charter member of Parkland Baptist Church. She worked on and off at Clovis Steam Laundry and was a wonderful cook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and housewife.

She is survived by son - Dr. Robert Bell Elwanda of Clovis; daughters - Darla Pittman Hugh of Milton, Florida, Nancy Sacane of Clovis and Karen Bell of Albuquerque, New Mexico and adopted daughter - Joan Worden of Albuquerque; grandchildren - Robert Bell Shelly, Amber McCool Greg, Tom Pittman Noreen, Fawn Oaks Geoff, Keith Sacane Kathryn, Karin Sacane and Barbara Adams Jason; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 2 sisters - Doris Wooley of Portales and Dorothy Watkins of Clovis and long time caregiver - Mary Northcutt.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 3 brothers - Dillard, Garland and Lawson; 1 sister Bernice Jones and son-in-law - Harold Sacane.

Casket bearers will be Keith Sacane, Jason Adams, Bob Bell, Richard Bell, Robert Bell and Daniel Saiz. Honorary casket bearers will be Karin Sacane, Barbara Adams, Amber McCool, Fawn Pittman, Shelly Bell, Kathryn Sacane, Gary Zoelzer and the staff at Retirement Ranch.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkland Baptist Church Building Fund, 921 Parkland, Clovis, NM 88101 or to your favorite charity.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Steed-Todd Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and Rev. Wayne Boydstun officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories.
