Linda Stobb

Linda Wylene Russell Stobb of Portales, New Mexico passed away Wednesday, July 12th, in Clovis, New Mexico. A Memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, in Portales, on July 20th at 11:00 am. An Inurnment will follow at Portales Cemetery. Linda was born in San Diego, California to Ezra and Melvina Russell on June 28, 1942. She attended school in San Diego and met her first love, Orville Dockter. They were married on January 24, 1960. They alternated living in South Dakota and New Mexico before deciding to stay near her family close to Floyd. Years later, Linda married Harlin Stobb on February 14, 1980. She worked at The Portales National Bank, and currently James Polk Stone Community Bank for almost 38 years. Linda met and knew many people and had many friends. Her favorite activities included cooking, canning, sewing and taking care of her family. She entered a lot of her creations in the Roosevelt County Fair and won ribbons for most of them. She was a wonderful cook and opened her home often to anyone.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Ezra and Melvina Russell, her sisters and brothers; Mary, Bobbie Lee, Lane and Bruce (Sonny). Harlin Stobb, her husband of 32 years. One step daughter; Bev Stobb, three nephews; Rodney Bennett, Jace Bennett, Louie Purvis and a niece Valli Ann Bennett.
She is survived by three children and one stepson; Jimmie Dockter, Teri Dockter of Portales, Larry (Lisa) Dockter of Bloomfield NM and Stepson Harlin (Joanne) Stobb of Clovis. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jimmie Dockter, Larry Dockter, Harlin Stobb, Garrett Dockter, Casey Myers And Kevin Sheenan. Honorary Pallbearers are all friends and family members.
