Lindel Terry

Lindel Terry, age 77, of Clovis, NM passed away on October 1, 2012 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, New Mexico.

He was born on October 21, 1934 to Henry Ben and Ula Lola Bone Terry in Porter, New Mexico. Lindel was raised in Porter, New Mexico and graduated from high school in Porter, New Mexico. He lived in numerous small communities while his mother was a teacher during the depression. Lindel attended Eastern New Mexico University. He married Laquita Mitchell on October 3, 1954 in House, New Mexico. He went to work for his brother at Crown Electric and they became partners in 1972. Lindel then purchased Crown Electric from his brother in 1982. He sold the business to his sons in 2003. Lindel was a true man of God and his family meant the world to him. He was an elder and member of Central Christian Church and served his community in the Lions Club, Elks, Masonic Lodge, Shriners Scottish Rite, York Rite and Republican Party.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Laquita, of the home one daughter: Pamela Pierce Bobby of Edgewood, New Mexico three sons: Robert Terry of Clovis, New Mexico, Donald Terry of Clovis, New Mexico and Roger Terry Laura of Lubbock, Texas one brother: Merle Terry of Clovis, New Mexico one sister: Melva Terry of Mineral Wells, Texas eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Central Christian Church in Clovis, New Mexico with Pastor Lanny Hemmings officiating and Pete Jones assisting. Casket bearers are Bill Vetterly, Rick Houck, J. B. Burns, Mark Hill, Kenneth Whitecotton and Lewis Heisch. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis, New Mexico. Honorary casket bearers are members of Clovis Shrine and Clovis Masonic Lodge. Lindel will be in state at SteedTodd Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m on Wednesday, October 3, 2012.
