Loleat Vaughan Harmon age 85 was born July 26, 1923 to Charles and Lydia Davidson Vaughan who farmed South of Texico, New Mexico on the Stateline. She passed away on September 29, 2008 in Abilene, Texas. She married Herbert W. Harmon February 4, 1942 in Clovis, New Mexico. She had two sons, Dickey Don Harmon who preceded her in death in 1987, and Ronald Lynn Harmon Betty, who resides in Abilene, Texas. She is survived by five grandsons Gary Don Harmon of Clovis, Tom L. Harmon Dana of Clovis, Tim K. Harmon of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tye C. Harmon Jennifer of Clovis, and Tavin C. Harmon of Greenville, Texas, one granddaughter Tori C. Harmon of Phoenix, Arizona; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Lewie and Elton Vaughan.
Loleat was known for her love of the land farming, her time in real estate 1979-2001, her dedication to her Christian faith and to church 16th and Pile Church of Christ, her family, grandchildren and friends. Services will be Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at 16th and Pile Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Texico Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be the grandchildren and a great grandchild, Cody Don Harmon. Honorary Casket Bearers will be the elders and deacons of the 16th and Pile Church of Christ.
