Lonnie Cole

Lonnie Geraldine Tharp Cole, age 91 years, passed away Friday, April 5th, 2013 at All Care Assisted Living in Clovis, New Mexico. She was born on February 4th, 1922 to Rosa and Scott Tharp of Fords Academy, TX. She married Jack W. Cole in 1940 in Paris, TX. They moved to Clovis in 1947, where her husband was a finish carpenter.

Geraldine was a mother, housewife and a teacher. She graduated from ENMU in 1968 with a masters degree in education. She then taught first grade at Parkview Elementary in Clovis. She was an accomplished artist and also enjoyed quilting, sewing, and working in her yard. She retired in 1989 and loved to travel with her husband in their RV. She was a member of 16th Pile Church of Christ for over 58 years.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and one brother.

She is survived by two daughters, Starlett Kilmer and Rebecca Fourcher, both of Clovis, three grandsons, Skip Johnson of Clovis, Richard Beverly Fourcher of Albuquerque, Gerald Johanna Kilmer of Clovis, and two greatgrandchildren, Dustin and Kimberly Fourcher.

Cremation has taken place. Inurnment and memorial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: NM Christian Childrens Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130.
