She entered this world on March 28, 1925, in Crystal Springs, Arkansas. Born to Walter and Irene Ivey, about an hour before her twin sister, Lorene Mount.

Lora grew up in Crystal Springs and Hot Springs, Arkansas. She and her twin sister enjoyed singing together.

Lora loved the finer things in life and always was quite the lady. She taught at the Benson School of Commerce - Etiquette and Manners, Poise, Typing and Shorthand. She was very active in the Miss New Mexico and Miss Clovis Beauty Pageants. Lora had great style and enjoyed modeling, as well as, working 25 years at Anne-Lees Women's Dress Store in Clovis, New Mexico.

She was always soft spoken, kind, and showed genuine love for everyone she met. She was known for her great sense of humor and quick wit and was sharp as a tack.

In the mid part of her life, she owned and operated two steak houses (K-Bobs and The Split Rail) in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was the "Hostess with the mostest". No one cooked better than she.

Always eager to learn something new, in her latter years, Lora learned to play the piano, and learned and performed Clogging. She continually encouraged younger people, as well as taught them about the Lord. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and she was a lifetime member of the Viet Nam Memorial at Angel Fire, New Mexico.

He gift of hospitality was unequaled. Constantly hosting people in her home; the decor was beautiful, the food excellent, and she set the most exquisite table you had ever seen. She loved the garden and had a green thumb. She also loved her "girls", always talking to them as she gathered the eggs.

As wonderful as she was at the aforementioned; her Love for God, her family, friends, and pets was most obvious.
