MSgt Lorenzo A Williams Senior was born on April 23rd 1933 to Charlie and Annie Williams in Selma, Alabama. He was the youngest of three children; Beulah Bornes of Sardis, Alabama and Jimmy Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Lorenzo Williams grew up in Selma, Alabama and graduated from Selma High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force. After completing his basic training Lorenzo Williams married his high school sweetheart Mary A Reason on August 17th 1953. While serving in the US Air Force Lorenzo and his family traveled throughout the United States as well as overseas. Lorenzo began his duty as a cook and later cross trained. Lorenzo's final duty station was Cannon Air Force base Clovis, New Mexico where he was a jet airplane technician for the Tactical Air Command Upon retiring from the United States Air Force Lorenzo Williams was the executive director for the Clovis Housing Authority and maintained that position until retirement.
Lorenzo and Mary were blessed with four children; Lorenzo A Williams Jr. of Seattle Washington, Cassandra Parsons (Donald) of North Carolina, Greta Blackshear of Texas, and Cedric V. Williams (Gina) of Clovis, New Mexico. Lorenzo had 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Lorenzo was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 117, and a member of St. John Masonic Lodge #6. Lorenzo loved his family and good friends. He loved the Great Outdoors and nature. Anyone who knew Lorenzo was accustomed to his wit and dry humor that would lighten your heart and bring a smile to your face. Lorenzo had his own way of "meddling" that would let you know that you were loved by him.
Lorenzo Williams was preceded in death by his parents, both siblings and two grandsons; Arien Smith and Andre Williams. Lorenzo is succeeded in death by his wife Mary A Williams of Clovis, NM and his four children.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 18, 2018, 9:00am to 8:00pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home. Lorenzo's Going Home service will be held at the Church of the Brethren on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00pm with Rev. Dan Murrell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Garden Cemetery with military honors.
