Louise Reid

Services for Louise Reid, 84, of Clovis, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Kingswood United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Reeves officiating and Melvin Jester assisting. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Louise passed from this life Friday, January 25, 2008 at Senior Citizen Resident Center. She was born October 31, 1923 in Vaughn, New Mexico to Lillian Frank Love and moved to Clovis in 1933. Louise graduated from Clovis High School in 1941. She married Joe Reid December 25, 1941 and they shared 57 years together on the farm.

She was a long time member of Kingswood United Methodist Church. She was employed at the ASCS office from 1964 to 1984. She enjoyed square dancing for over 37 years. She served as President of Ranchvale Gattis PTA and enjoyed years of Curry County Extension Club service.

Louise is survived by 2 daughters, Sylvia Davis and husband Danny of Clovis and Sonya Chavez and husband Pedro of Whitesboro, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Bryan Miller Katie, Jody Miller, Cory Gunter Amanda, Kristi Davis and Miguel Chavez; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Hendrick; 2 brothers-in-law; 5 sisters-in-law; many nieces nephews and dear friend, Pete Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Reid; 1 brother, Frank Love and 1 grandson, Landon Ward.

Casket bearers will be her sons-in-law, Danny Davis and Pedro Chavez; grandsons, Bryan Miller and Cory Gunter and great grandsons, Jordan Broome and Chastin Miller. Honorary casket bearers will be great grandsons, Dillon Ward, Chance Miller, Ryan Gunter and Caden Miller.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 28 at the funeral home. The casket will be closed at the service.
