Lucila Nelson

Lucila Maria Nelson age 81 of Clovis, NM passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February  9th, 2023. Rosary will be  held  at  Our  Lady  of  Guadalupe Catholic church on March 17th, 2023 at 10am, memorial mass will follow at 10:30am with Father EIi Valadez officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven.

Lucila was  born  June 1st,  1941  in Vaughn,  NM  to  Senon  and  Floripa  Aragon.  Lucila resided in Clovis all of her  adult life where she raised her two sons. She worked many years at Home Health Care where she developed many close relationships and enjoyed caring for her residents until she retired.

Lucila loved playing bingo, spending hours talking on the phone with her friends and family, and praying her rosary everyday. Lucila always looked forward to her daily lunch dates with her son Mark. Lucila loved her family deeply. She never left an event without telling her loved ones goodbye with a kiss on the cheek and a sign of the cross on their forehead.

Lucila is survived by two sons Donald Nelson and Mark (Barbara) Nelson both of Clovis, NM. Four grandchildren: Josh Nelson, Cassie (Juan) Gutierrez, Savana Nelson and Cameron Nelson. Three great grandchildren: Aiden Gutierrez, Jaxon Gutierrez, and Luna Houston. Brother: Albino (Amelia) Aragon. Sisters: Cipriana Woolis and Lenora (Steve) Zarbaugh.

Lucila is preceded in death by her parents Senon and Floripa Aragon. Brother: Zenon Aragon Jr., Modesto Aragon, Joe Aragon, Victorino Aragon. Sisters: Rosita Romero, Ruby Aragon, Cornelia Gonzales, Tillie Marez and Terry Anaya. And her niece Tina Chavez who she was particularly fond of and is now reunited with in heaven.
