Lucille Lynette Thompson, 86, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away on October 13, 2015 at Plains Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday October 16, 2015 at Steed Todd Chapel. Michael Jones of Central Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Texico Cemetery.
Lynette was born at Pleasant Hill, New Mexico to Rev. Roy and Nora Day on December 1, 1928. She married Clarence Verne Thompson (C.V.) on February 10, 1950 in Portales, New Mexico. They were married for 65 years.
Lynette was active in Y.W.A. (Young Women's Association) when she lived in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and was New Mexico State President for 4 years. She and her husband joined Central Baptist Church in 1983. They both were in the Glory Choir for several years. Lynette was a resident at Wheatfield's Assisted Living in Clovis. She enjoyed her beloved cat, Blackie.
Lynette was preceded in death by her father Rev. Roy L Day, Her mother Nora day of Texico, her brothers; R.L., JR, and Harrell Day.
She is survived by her husband Clarence Verne Thompson, her brother Dan and wife Mary, of Phoenix, AZ; sister Darlene Day Watson and husband Bufford of San Antonio, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to NM Baptist Children's Home in Portales, NM.
