Luis Martinez

Luis Martinez, 86, of Clovis, NM, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was born on September 3, 1931 in Vaughn, NM to Juan and Adela Paiz Martinez.
Luis was married to the love of his life, Luisa Martinez, for 65 years. He served in the United States Army before working as a general laborer. Luis was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the Senior Center to play pool. He was also a devoted member of the Catholic Church.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Luisa Martinez of Clovis, NM; sons, George (Donna) Martinez of Lawton, OK, Gilbert (Tammy) Martinez of Clovis, NM, Gabriel (Cynthia) Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM and Carlos Martinez of Clovis, NM; daughters, Theresa (Joe) Barela of Clovis, NM, Margaret (David) Hemm of Clovis, NM, and Nina (Eddy) Montoya of Clovis, NM; sisters, Isabel (Tony) Baldo of Albuquerque, NM, Corina Lopez of SW, TX and Georgia (George) Boyd of Orange County, CA; 20 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone.
Preceding his death are his parents, JP and Adela Martinez; brothers, Sonny, Juanito and Arturo Martinez; sisters, Melita Davalos and Maryann Martinez.
A Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, by Deacon Daniel Chavez, at Steed Todd Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 12, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, February 13. 2018, 10:30am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with Father Angelo officiating. Burial to follow at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kaila Hemm, Kellie Hemm, Alicia Martinez, Adan Martinez, Lorenzo Martinez, Gabriel Montoya, Anthony Montoya, and Christopher Sena. All his first born grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers.
