Louisa Mares

Louisa Ann Mares of Portales, NM, passed away on September 2nd, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 5th from 6-8 pm at Steed Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 6th at 11 am at Steed Todd Funeral Home in Clovis, NM. Cremation will take place after.

Louisa was born in Clovis, NM to Juan and Julia Molina on November 18, 1951. She attended Clovis High School where she graduated. She loved fishing with her twin sister and daughter. She enjoyed playing bingo and gambling. She loved painting. She enjoyed playing her guitar at the 6 o'clock mass for OLG. Her favorite show was SWAT. But most of all, Louisa enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Louisa is preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Cerda, her parents, Juan and Julia Molina, her brother, Johnny Molina, and her twin sister, Elisa Ann Vicuna.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Carrie) Mares of Portales, NM. Grandson, Victor Mares of Portales, NM. Granddaughter, Maria (Laura) Castillo of Hobbs, NM. Granddaughter, Olivia (Andrew) Felarca of Temecula, CA. Granddaughter, Catherine Mares of Clovis, NM. Grandson, Richard Cerda of Temecula, CA. Lexi Cortinez of Amarillo, TX. And 7 great grandchildren, Elias, Eva, Urijah, Nova Lee, Emery, Lorenzo, Ean and Zyen.

Louisa is also survived by her sisters, Maria (Mauricio) Solano of Las Vegas, NV. Gloria Estrada of Clovis, NM. Janie Moncayo of Clovis, NM, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Cerda, Laura Castillo, Andrew Felarca, Elias Lira, Urijah Mares, Lorenzo Castillo, Ean Felarca, Daniel Vicuna, and Carissa Martin.

Memorials may be given to Steed Todd Funeral Home.
