Lula Cross, 91, of Bellview, New Mexico, died Monday, February 2, 2009, at BSA Hospice in Amarillo, Texas. She was born January 13, 1918, in Cleburne, Texas to Robert Edna Page Johnston.

She married Arnold Cross December 23, 1938 in Clovis, New Mexico. She was a long time Bellview resident was postmaster at Bellview from 1970 until her retirement. She was a member of Broadview Church of Christ.

She is survived by 3 sons, Don Cross Peggy and Honel Cross Lupe all of Clovis and Mike Cross Jovie of Bushland, Texas; 1 sister, Nita Phillips of Clovis; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Arnold Jr.; daughter Elvis Shields; 1 sister, Beulah Rowden and 2 brothers, Reginald Johnston Theodore Rowden.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009, at Broadview Church of Christ in Broadview, New Mexico with Otho Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Grady Cemetery, Grady, New Mexico.

Casket bearers will be Colt Cross, Kelly Tindle, Fred Chandler, Cobey Isbell, Boots Cross, Steve Henthorn, Todd Northcutt Brent Duke. Honorary casket bearers will be Kordell Tindle, Tommy Lofton, Wilbur Cogdill, Bud Johnston, Dudley Johnston and Doug Mote.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Childrens Home in Portales, New Mexico.
