Luther Louis Holland

June 5th, 1938 - November 2nd , 2020

Louis was at home with his wife Joyce at his side when God said that he was ready to bring him home. Louis went to his eternal home Monday night, November 2nd, 2020.

Louis was born June 5th,1938 to Lloyd and Jessie Holland in Glencoe, New Mexico. After finishing High School, he married his soulmate, Joyce (Waller) in Tularosa, New Mexico on August 17th, 1957. They were married for 63 years. They raised their three children in different towns, until they found that Clovis would be their home.

Louis worked various jobs that would support his family. He found that being a plumber was something he was good at and loved to do. He worked for State Electric, Newt and Butch, and W.T. Denton, until he retired in the year 2000. On the job sites, anyone who with Louis knew that those pipes had better be laid out and put together right, before they were covered with dirt.

Louis loved to do wood work, go fishing, camping, hunting and loved to have family gather at his house.

He attended Prince Street Baptist Church. Being in church, he realized that there was more than just going to church. He came to know who Jesus was and that Jesus loved him. He accepted that love and forgiveness that Jesus gives and was baptized on July 9th, 2001. He loved serving and fellowshipping with his church family.

When Louis’s health began to slow him down, it didn’t stop him from living his life to the fullest. His faith was what kept him strong, even when his body was growing weak.

Louis was loved beyond measure and his absence will be greatly missed. His legacy of hard work, being soft spoken, full of love and his faithfulness will live on forever.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters, Mary Elenor, Wanda, Dorthy and Linda.

He is survived by his wife Joyce, his children, Kathy (Mike) Leatherwood, Cindy (Mark) Bargas, and Lonnie (Sheila) Holland, six grandchildren and 13-Great Grandchildren.
