Manuel Galban, 65, of Clovis, New Mexico, has gone to eternal sleep and to be in Heaven on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born June 9, 1943 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Enrique Fransica Luera Galban.
He was raised in Carlsbad and moved to Portales then Clovis in 1978. He graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in education with a minor in Spanish. He worked for the Clovis Schools six years and had been a cook at Philmont Boy Scouts Camp and Eastern New Mexico University. He had also been a custodian at Kmart. He was saved and baptized January 21, 2008. The delight of his life was to see his family happy.
He is survived by 2 sons, Alfred Medina of Carlsbad and Tony Medina of Clovis; 2 daughters, Julie Medina of Clovis and Margie Medina of Carlsbad; 3 sisters, Roselda Espinoza Hibolito of Portales, Mary Ojeda of Carlsbad and Margie Viera George of Clovis; 2 brothers, Ralph Galban Teresa and Rueben Galban Nora both of Carlsbad; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including Eunice Garza and Roy Galban both of Portales. He will be greatly missed by his family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cecilia Galban; 1 son, Reyes Medina; 2 brothers, Ramon Galban and an infant brother Galban and 1 sister Rubellia Galban.
The family will be at 2920 Lisa and 505 Rencher.
A service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Steed-Todd Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008, at Portales Cemetery in Portales with Pastor Peter Aulson officiating.
Casket bearers will be George Viera, Miguel Garza, Eddie Rodriguez, Brandon Sisneros, Jose Roybal Greg Lopez.
