Mary Gloria Maestas

Mary Gloria Maestas, age 56, passed from this life on November 4, 2023 in Lubbock.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rosary will be on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Committal services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.

Mary, or "Mama G", was born on December 7, 1966 in Clovis to Augustine "Willie" and Louisa (Romero) Maestas. She enjoyed cooking for her family, as she was a great cook with a big heart. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as she was so proud of all of them.

She was preceded in death by her father Augustine "Willie" Maestas, grandparents Felipe and Maria Maestas, Rodolfo Romero, Sr. and Rosita Romero, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by her children Franchesca Worthen Maestas, Danny Ray Venable (Marisela), and Andrew Chavez; sisters Kathy Maestas, Debbie Arington (Phillip), and Elena Romero; mother Louisa Maestas; Mimi and God-sent Angel Melva Worthen; grandchildren Nicole Maestas, Miguel Gutierrez, Nyely Castillo, Ariyana Venable, Angel Venable, Serenity and Evan Worthen; and great-grandchildren Nicholas, Adrian and Miguel Gonzales; Godson Gilbert Mares; and several extended family and friends.
